Today was one of those days that made the last few tough weeks of motherhood seem worth it. My 23 month old slept in this morning and also didn’t fight her afternoon nap a bit so I was rested, calm and happy with the surprise that she actually wanted the extra zzz’s as much as I did. She had a scheduled visit with her Uncle Ricky and father, though it was delayed by 2 hours (they’re always on Spanish time) I wasn’t stressed out, my daughter was pleasant, cute and happy all day and I was made the same.
To add to my delight, her father whom I’ve been separated with for about a year gave me the home payment (almost in full) but without a fight and boy, did it feel great to have the extra $1000.00 bucks in my hands if only for a few short hours. I was able to make a wonderful trip to the store alone for once, and get some great ingredients for my Toddler Soup that both mother and baby enjoy for an extra 2-3 days. She ate about 5 vegetables she normally never eats, so if energy prevails will post the awesome recipe soon. Tonight’s looking more like a movie and bed. At least it wasn’t one of those days, rather a peaceful one with rest assured!
…..thank goodness for days like these.
